IF I HAD A HI-FI is the brainchild of composer, songwriter and producer, Gideon Frankel. Like the project’s intriguingly clever name (read it backwards and be surprised!), “The Dryad” album is filled with intelligent but also emotive and oddly haunting melodies. The 11 original compositions contain unexpected narrative twists and savoury harmonies which float on gentle Latin-inspired grooves. The album features the vibrant and soulful performances of American jazz flautist Jamichael Frazier and Italian Vibraphonist Gianluca Manfredonia backed by vintage keys, upright bass, drums and percussion.

Frankel has enjoyed a long career producing award-winning commercial soundtracks. This album is his first solo artistic project and with it he presents a refreshing, mysterious and somewhat mystical vision of what music can be. Being an audiophile and jazz enthusiast himself, Frankel conceived this album as a classic vinyl LP and it is available as a deluxe vinyl collectible for fellow audiophiles to indulge in the rich tones and expressive performances.
